DATA & ANALYTICS
Now in 1984 you couldn’t blame lenders. The banks didn’t know who I was. 35 years later we
no longer have that excuse. My utility and communications data is available. My renter data is
available. My job salary data is available. We can and we should treat consumers better.
10 YEAR JOURNEY
Like many of you, it took me ten years to build a credit history thick enough to buy a first home.
That is far too long in the age in which we live and what ultimately brought me to Equifax.
I am passionate about the data, analytics and identity capabilities that exist today to make
it possible. These three components help us close the gap on information asymmetry—the
imbalance that exists when lenders and borrowers have different levels of information. By
investing in alternative data, extracting
insights through advanced analytics,
and developing new techniques to
protect identities, Equifax is leading
our industry and closing the gap on
information asymmetry.
